Online Christian Counseling for Individuals, Couples, Relationships and Families

God created each person as a unique human being made of body, mind and spirit who deeply desires physical, emotional and spiritual connection. Humans as three-part beings broaden my systemic thinking. My Christian faith influences my work to help you flourish and live whole and holy lives, but spirituality is part of your therapy as you desire.

I provide confidentiality and safety in a judgment-free zone so you can unpack your concerns and worries to a mature, experienced licensed marriage and family therapist. Taking the step to come to therapy is truly courageous. I am a systemic family therapist and am trained in both family system therapies and individual therapies. A systemic approach views the individual plus their relationships with others and the environment. Early in my clinical work as a marriage therapist, I realized that many marital problems were present long before marriage. They are the result or impact of childhood or family of origin issues. I have spent much of my career studying families and trauma to help individuals, couples, relationships and families become more resilient.

Individual Counseling is a psychological treatment in which a client works one-on-one with a trained mental health professional and the most common type of therapy. It is an opportunity for an individual to process difficulties where they receive support, learn and apply coping skills, make changes, and experience growth toward whole and holy living. Individual counseling can help you understand your thoughts, behaviors and relationships. The reasons that motivated you to seek counseling are personal, inexhaustible and respected by me. Possibly life transition, grief and loss, confusion, anxiety, depression, trauma, marriage and divorce, step or blended family issues, family cut-offs, sibling conflict, relationships, finances, career changes, etc.

As a marriage and family therapist, I will help you explore your emotions, beliefs, values and relationships so you can better understand yourself and others so you can live well. You might recognize deeper issues that need to be resolved.   As treatment progresses and you gain a clearer understanding, we work together to develop goals for desired change.

Individuals are created by God for relationships, but there is risk and can be ups and downs when two imperfect people come together. I want to hear equally from each person and work diligently to understand them without judging them or taking sides. Treatment goals are planned for each couple; one size does not fit all. Counseling helps couples improve communication, connection and intimacy, resolve conflict, and identify areas of disrespect or abuse.

I often use the Prepare/Enrich relationship assessment to understand the health of a couple. It identifies strengths and growth areas, relationship dynamics, personality type, and family mapping, which equips the therapist to broaden the couple’s understanding of themselves.

Families are the hub of our society. In our chaotic and complicated world, families look vastly different from our grandparents’ generation. Families are nuclear, blended, extended, single-parent, multicultural, multigenerational or simply complex. Family counseling addresses simple and complex problems such as parent-child, parent-adult child, sibling, finances, illness, school, friends, faith, anger, or addiction.

Families have told me that therapy is the only safe place to talk about real life. Often, one family member is identified as “having the problem,” yet, in most families, each member plays a part. I approach each family with a systemic perspective and encourage them to become assertive yet vulnerable, so they can identify necessary changes to move toward a healthier family.

"Linda Pellmann is the quintessential therapist. Her approach is a beautiful combination of skillful therapy and wise, compassionate soul care. All of it grounded in a practical, whole-person theology.

Client, therapist and pastor myself, I could not have asked for a better person to lean on and learn from than Linda."
